Taps

There is a large variety of kitchen taps on the market today ranging from monoblock mixer taps through to the more exclusive tri-flow tap with a built in water purification system. Choosing the right type of tap is very important as it can play a large part in creating the look that you want from your kitchen. There are three main types of taps which subsequently give rise to many variants and finishes.
-
Single flow - historically the oldest of the tap styles with only hot or cold water available through each tap. Their use has fallen considerably in recent years in favor of dual flow taps.
-
Dual flow - you can receive hot, cold or mixed water variants from this tap. It is the most popular choice regardless of kitchen style and they come in the greatest variety of styles and finishes.
-
Tri-flow - A tri-way tap will deliver all the dual flow tap features with the additional feature of providing purified drinking water via a filter located under the sink. The filter is replaceable and over time can be considered a cost effective alternative to purchasing bottled water. As these taps are considered a luxury item they represent the smallest segment of the tap market and thus do not have the variety of styles seen in the other segments. They are however the fastest growing segment of the market as the demand for purified water continues to grow.
Hot water systems - A stand-alone tap that dispenses near-boiling water for hot drinks and cooking whenever you need it. Convenient, simple and easy to operate, the hot water system taps eliminates the need to boil the kettle every time hot water is required.
Water pressure - to function properly, many kitchen taps require quite high water pressure. Some houses suffer from low water pressure so this will need to be considered when choosing the correct kitchen tap.
